Using Data to Assess CTE Student Outcomes
The Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education (OCTAE) invites state secondary and postsecondary career and technical education (CTE) agency staff to attend the 2016 Data Quality Institute (DQI). The event will be held October 27–28 at the Maritime Institute, located just outside Baltimore, Maryland.
The reauthorization of the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV) is anticipated to reinforce and extend federal expectations for state reporting on CTE student and program performance. Accordingly, the focus of the 2016 DQI—Using Data to Assess CTE Student Outcomes—is intended to support states in refining their CTE data systems to address federal and state reporting needs.
DQI sessions this year will be organized around three strands relating to data access, analytics, and communication—all of which are expected to play a critical role in assessing CTE student outcomes.
