Dear Colleagues –

We hope you had a joyful and restful holiday season! We are looking forward to another productive new year in 2017 and moving forward our efforts to prepare all students for college and careers.

Thank you for your efforts to submit your Perkins Consolidated Annual Reports (CARs) covering FY 2015-16, the ninth program year under the Perkins IV legislation. We know many of you worked long and hard on these reports over the holidays and we greatly appreciate your efforts.

Beginning next week, the DATE team will begin reviewing the narrative information, financial status reports (FSRs), and accountability data contained in your CAR reports. As in years past, we will review your reports in light of the following criteria:

• Completeness of the report (i.e., whether you addressed all the required report elements).
• Compliance with the Perkins IV legislation (i.e., whether you undertook activities that were consistent with the intent and provisions of Perkins IV).
• Accuracy and completeness of accountability data (i.e., whether you met all requirements for annual performance reporting under Perkins IV).

If your State received an extension for one or more portions of your report, we will complete your State’s review once all your information is submitted to us.
