Dear Colleagues —
I am delighted to share word that today, March 9, 2016, the U.S. Department of Education (the Department) announced in the Federal Register its Career and Technical Education (CTE) Makeover Challenge (the Challenge), a prize competition funded by the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV or Act). See the link to the Federal Register Notice below. The Challenge calls upon eligible high schools to design models of makerspaces--across a wide range of facility types, such as classrooms, libraries, and mobile spaces--that strengthen student's career and technical skills through making. Applications are due by April 1, 2016.
Please widely share this announcement with your colleagues and eligible schools.
